Spain According to coach Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool deserve to be eliminated by Real Madrid in the 1/8 Champions League round, even if it is drawn from the first leg.

"We prepared for a special performance at the Bernabeu, but failed to show it on the pitch," Klopp told BT Sport. "Real clearly played better, in three of the four rounds of this round. If Liverpool draw at Anfield and play like that at the Bernabeu, we will also be out. No one wonders why Liverpool can't progress, so we I have to accept Real deserves to go on."

The only goal of striker Karim Benzema helped Real lose 1-0 in the second leg, to enter the quarter-finals with a total score of 6-2. The last time they stopped in the quarterfinals was 19 years ago, against Monaco in 2004. And Liverpool almost ran out of chances to win another major title this season after the English Super Cup at the beginning of the season. Klopp's teachers and students only have one goal left to enter the Top 4 in the Premier League to attend the Champions League next season.

Klopp is not angry after the match on the evening of March 15, but only disappointed. He thinks that if Liverpool play better but are eliminated by a controversial situation, he will get angry. "But Liverpool don't deserve to go on, and I've been in this job long enough to respect that fact," he added.

In four of the last six seasons, Real have eliminated Liverpool in the Champions League. The defending champion is expected to defend the throne again. According to the German coach, Napoli and Bayern Munich also deserve to be expected. "However, the team that wants to win the championship has to win against Real," said Klopp.

This is Liverpool's last game, when club competitions will stop for two weeks to make way for the national team. After this period, Liverpool returned to meet consecutively Man City, Chelsea and Arsenal. According to Klopp, if Liverpool overcome this series of matches successfully, they can complete the task of entering the Top 4.

Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League with 42 points. They are six points away from fourth place Tottenham, but kick one game less than this opponent. Newcastle are fifth with 44 points, and have played one game less than Liverpool. In addition, Brighton can also race the Top 4 when they are equal to Liverpool and play less than one game.
