Coach Jurgen Klopp took responsibility, committed his future and was determined to turn the situation around with Liverpool after showing a poor performance from the beginning of the season.

"I have too many responsibilities. I want that and solve it with Liverpool," Klopp said on February 12 in the press conference before the match against Everton in the 23rd round of the Premier League. "I am 100% committed to my future with Liverpool. You can imagine how great my responsibility is at the moment, and how I feel now. We will give our all to get through the difficult times. this towel and prepare for a very positive future again."

In 2015, Klopp replaced Brendan Rodgers to take over Liverpool. Under the German coach, Liverpool gradually regained their position of power in both the English Premier League and Europe. Klopp completed his trophy collection at Anfield, with an English Premier League, a Champions League, an FA Cup, an English Super Cup, a League Cup, a European Super Cup and a FIFA Club World Cup.

Klopp is entering his eighth year as Liverpool manager - the longest time leading a club in his career. He spent seven years with Mainz 05 from 2001-2008 and seven years with Dortmund from 2008-2015.

The 55-year-old coach admitted to having experienced similar difficulties while working in Germany. He said: "At Mainz, we always have difficulties. In Dortmund, it comes at a beginning and an end. Liverpool are in a difficult time and I don't like it. But Liverpool are special clubs because we I believe in anything. If people believe in me, the whole team can get through this together. When that happens, we'll have a great time again."

Liverpool won only one point in four Premier League matches in 2023, when respectively losing to Brentford 1-3, Brighton 0-3, drawing Chelsea 0-0 and then losing 0-3 to Wolves. The last time they won three points was a 2-1 win over Leicester thanks to two own goals by Wout Faes on December 30. This series of bad results made Liverpool drop to 10th with 29 points, 12 points behind the fourth-placed team Newcastle and played two fewer games.

When asked what message he gave to the players, Klopp replied: "I hope it is the right sharing. I think in times like this you have to be clear, not hide anything, criticize but also respect each other".

The German coach takes full responsibility and protects Liverpool's assistants and staff. "If you praise them in good times, criticize them in bad times," said Klopp. "But if you don't praise them in good times, don't target them when things are not going well. Don't do that, be brave and aim at me. Of course we can respond directly."

After meeting Everton today, Klopp's teachers and students will march to Newcastle to play round 24 of the Premier League on February 18 and then receive Real at Anfield in the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League round on February 21.
