While the NBA is in the offseason and giving way to the transfer market or the Summer League, the WNBA women's professional basketball tournament is taking place in full swing with the WNBA All-Star 2023 series of events.

Here, a prominent name has appeared that is Sabrina Ionescu, the best female student of the late legendary Kobe Bryant and was once selected by the first pick at the WNBA Draft 2020.

Sabrina Ionescu participated in the 3-point pitching competition of the WNBA All-Star 2023 series of events, facing quite a few skilled pitchers, including Sami Whitcomb.

Entering the final round, Whitcomb scored 24 out of 40 points in the common format used by the NBA and WNBA. This number is not bad, but what Sabrina has done has created a record that is likely to be difficult to break.

She scored a total of 37 out of 40, successfully finished 25 times in 27 shots with a rate of up to 92.6% 3PT, a number that is probably only seen in free throws, not 3 points.

With her excellent performance, Sabrina Ionescu was convincingly crowned the champion of the WNBA Three-point Contest. Particularly, the score of 37 out of 40 became a record for both the WNBA and the NBA.

The current NBA record is 31 out of 40 (throws in 28 out of 36), shared between Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers) and Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors).
