Uzbekistan only drew Tajikistan 0-0 in the last leg on the evening of March 8, but Korea still entered the quarterfinals of the Asian U20 tournament as the top of Group C.

Korea held the ball up to 72.5%, but the whole match only finished 10 shots, one less than Tajikistan. The most significant opportunity for the Korean team was Moon Seung-min's close-range ball hitting the crossbar after Lee Young-jun's cross in the 81st minute.

But the draw is enough for Korea to top Group C. They have 7 points, 3 points more than Jordan who is next behind.

Meanwhile, Tajikistan was eliminated somewhat regretfully. This team has the same 4 points as Jordan, but has to be ranked behind due to a 0-2 loss in a direct confrontation.

In the first minute of injury time in the match against Korea, Amadoni Kamolov stretched smoothly from the left wing. But when no one was accompanying him, only about 5m from the goal, Faridun Davlatov shot his left foot wide and missed the post. This shot blew Tajikistan's chances of winning with a ticket to the quarterfinals. Standing outside the touchline, coach Oleg Kubarev held his head in regret.

When the final whistle sounded, the Tajikistan player collapsed on the field because of disappointment and fatigue, after more than 90 minutes of hard work. This team retreated deep into the formation to create a multi-layered defense system, not allowing Korea to approach Safar Ghaorov's goal. But Tajikistan not only endured the battle, but always took advantage of a sharp counter-attack every time it won the ball.

In just six minutes, from 25 to 31, Tajikistan had three dangerous chances, but either saved by goalkeeper Kim Joon-hong, or narrowly missed the wooden frame. In the second half, in the 57th minute, they continued to make the defense of the defending Asian U20 runner-up team wobble. Azibek Khaitov crosses Salohiddin Irgashev with a header that misses the goal.

Finishing up to 11 shots but not scoring any goals, Tajikistan had to say goodbye to the Asian U20 tournament, and at the same time broke the dream of winning tickets to the U20 FIFA World Cup in Indonesia this year.
