Kyegos violates Wimbledon dress code

England-Anh-Nick Kyrgios was asked about wearing a red hat and shoes at Wimbledon Central when he took part in the fourth round on July 4.

Wimbledon requires players to wear all-white clothes from entering to leaving the competition area. But Kyegos wore a red hat and shoes before and after the game. As the match progressed, the Australian tennis player changed into white shoes and white hat.

Kyrgios' irregularities were questioned by reporters at a post-match press conference. But, the Australian tennis player said calmly, "I do it because I like it. I like my red Jordan shoes. Tomorrow, maybe I will wear a vest."

Journalists continue to argue with Kyegos, claiming he puts himself above the rules of the game. But the 28-year-old tennis player responded with humorous answers, suggesting he needs to be himself before winning the game. The argument stopped only when the press conference host interrupted the two and asked for an end to the interview.

Kyrgios was previously fined $4,000 for his improper reaction to a referee in the fourth-round win over Stefanos Tsitsipas. He had been fined $10,000 for the same mistake when he beat host Paul Jub in five sets in the first round.

"It's ridiculous," Kjeldahs said of penalties for the All England club this year. "I made a lot of jokes with my team about the penalty we read in the newspaper. I reached the quarter-finals of Wimbledon and I know many people feel sad about it."

Kyegos believes he has grown more mature this year, winning the Australian Open men's doubles title and reaching the men's singles quarter-finals of the Grand Slam for the first time since 2015. "Tonight I will reward myself with a glass of wine. When I think about going deep at Wimbledon, I smile after the game. I am completely relaxed and calm," Kyegos added before leaving the press conference.

Kyrgios and Cristian Garin are the two unseeded quarterfinals who will meet. If he wins over Chile, Kyegos is likely to face Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals.

The first two quarterfinals of Wimbledon will be played tonight. Novak Djokovic takes on Jannik Sinner at Central Stadium at 19:30 Hanoi time. An hour later, hope host Cameron Norrie takes on David Goffin at Stadium 1.
