Kyrgios defends Alcaraz .'s racket throw

Tennis player Nick Kyrgios thinks it's a good thing that Carlos Alcaraz threw his racquet in the ATP Rogers Cup quarter-final defeat to Tommy Paul.

In the loss to Paul 3-6, 6-4, 3-6 on August 12, Alcaraz made a double error and failed to save the set-point in the first set. The 20-year-old tennis player angrily threw the racket on the rest chair, causing the racket to fly off the court. It was a rare time that Alcaraz had a lack of restraint on the field.

The video of Alcaraz throwing the racket was retweeted by Nick Kyrgios on Twitter. Australian tennis players support juniors. "Who cares about this move," Kyrgios wrote. "This guy is going to take on tennis for the next decade. It's good because he's shown everyone he's human. He doesn't hesitate to express his disappointment at playing below conventional standards."

Alcaraz is considered the strongest tennis player in the world right now. The young Spanish talent is holding the number one position in the world, after defeating Djokovic in the Wimbledon final, ending Nole's five consecutive years without loss in the grass Grand Slam. This year, Alcaraz has won six titles - the most on the ATP Tour.

However, in the Rogers Cup, Alcaraz did not have the best ball feeling. For the second year in a row, he lost to Tommy Paul. Last year, Alcaraz was eliminated in the second round also by the US opponent after three sets. The elimination in the quarterfinals this year made Alcaraz lose his right to self-determination in the world number one race after the US Open with Novak Djokovic.

Nick Kyrgios has had a memorable year. "Australian horse" missed the first half of the season due to a knee injury. He later withdrew from Roland Garros 2023, due to a left foot injury. Kyrgios recently announced that he will not attend the US Open due to a wrist injury - the cause that caused him to miss Wimbledon last month. The 28-year-old has not competed in any Grand Slams this year and has only played one match on the ATP Tour - losing to Wu Yibing at the ATP 250 grass court in Stuttgart in June.
