Lakers vs Grizzlies: Dillon Brooks criticized the old LeBron James, demanding the "king" to score 40 points to restore
Having faced LeBron James many times in the game, Dillon Brooks never faltered despite knowing that he was facing one of the biggest names in basketball history. If anyone wonders why, it's simply because Brooks isn't afraid of anyone.
"I don't care," Memphis Grizzlies defender replied when asked if he would be afraid to face future legends like LeBron James.
Brooks has even more reason to "crow" because he and his teammates have just won 103-93 against the Los Angeles Lakers, equaling the series score 1-1.
After the match, Dillon Brooks bluntly shared about LeBron James as follows:
“He is old, you know what I mean. Wait until Game 4, Game 5 to see if LeBron still trashtalk with me like that.
When I committed the fourth personal foul, he said something to me. If he wanted to trashtalk, he should have said it sooner rather than waiting.
But that's okay, I like to poke bears like that. I have no respect for anyone until they go up against me and score 40 points in front of me."
Not scoring 40 points, LeBron James is still the best player on the Los Angeles Lakers side with 28 points and 12 rebounds. On the side of Dillon Brooks, he only scored 12 points with 5-14 FG but was the winner.
Not stopping at the above sharing, Brooks said he wished he had the opportunity to defend LeBron James during his time with the Miami Heat or Cleveland Cavaliers because "then it will be difficult enough and create excitement".
Previously, Brooks told reporters that he did not mind facing LeBron James in the Playoffs. Defender Memphis wants to eliminate the "king" in the first round and considers it a challenge to help the team go further:
“They are a strong team, have a lot of good players and will be a suitable opponent for us in the first round. It would be better for us to get rid of them in the first round, it would be a good story and is a good test for the team.”
As a longtime player, LeBron is probably no stranger to psychological blows like this.
Lance Stephenson used to do everything to distract James, including blowing into the Lakers star's ear. Before that was Paul Pierce, who had many impressive matches with the "king" through many Playoffs.
Now the "king"'s job is to respond with action in the upcoming Game 3 and Game 4, two matches in which he and his teammates are played at home.
