Leading up to 29 points, the Los Angeles Lakers took a 2-1 lead over the Memphis Grizzlies
While Ja Morant returned and had one of the most explosive games of his Playoffs career, the Los Angeles Lakers stood firm to win Game 3 with a 111-101 aggregate scoreline against the Memphis Grizzlies.
All thanks to the incredibly explosive first half of LeBron James and his teammates, seeing the yellow and purple shirt team leading to 38-9, a gap of nearly 30 points.
A comprehensive defensive performance helped the Lakers "strangle" the Grizzlies on this side of the field, then attack effectively from all distances on the opposite side. After the first two innings, the LA team had 5 different players reaching 10 individual points.
Although Memphis rose strongly in the second half and especially in the fourth (Ja Morant sometimes scored 22 points in a row), the Lakers still controlled the game thanks to the above safe point gap.
One of the turning points of the match came early in the third round when Dillon Brooks hit LeBron James's crotch and was immediately disqualified for a level 2 (flagrant-2) foul. The Lakers are currently leading by 16 points.
Having not been in high form and completely under pressure from both players and Los Angeles Lakers fans, the Memphis Grizzlies did not make a significant breakthrough in terms of points.
It was not until the fourth half when Ja Morant suddenly "entered the zone" and scored a 22-point streak in a row that the Grizzlies narrowed the gap to 10 points, but Morant's efforts alone were not enough.
The game closed with a 111-101 overall win for the Los Angeles Lakers. The purple-yellow shirt team temporarily took a 2-1 lead in the Playoffs series round 1 with the Memphis Grizzlies.
Anthony Davis led the LA team with 31 points, 17 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks. LeBron James - after a long time on the field because he was hit in the groin by Dillon Brooks - closed the game with 25 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists.
Ja Morant shone in the Memphis Grizzlies' effort, bursting with 45 points and 13 assists (13-26 FG, 13-14 FT). Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr are the two remaining names scoring above 10 points.
The two teams will take a break for 1 day before facing each other in Game 4, which will take place at 9:00 am on Tuesday, April 25, Vietnam time.
