Striker Robert Lewandowski revealed no Barca player mentioned the defeat of Bayern 2-8 in the Champions League in 2020.

"No one talks about that match," Lewandowski said on July 26 at a press conference before the friendly match against Juventus at Cotton Bowl, USA. "That's the story in the past and it is best not to look back. That's our way of thinking."

Lewandowski contributed a goal in the battle to crush Barca 8-2 in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2020. Polish striker then and Bayern defeated Lyon and PSG to win the championship.

In contrast, Barca set up many sad milestones when receiving the strongest defeat in the history of European cups. The result of 2-8 against Bayern was also the strongest defeat of Barca after 69 years, since the defeat of 0-6 in the hands of Espanyol in 1951. They also conceded the most in a match, since defeat 4-7 ago. Valencia in October 1949.

Barca Barca 8-2 is not the first time Lewandowski won the gap before the Spanish representative in the Champions League. In the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals in 2013, the Polish striker scored all four goals to help Dortmund win Real 4-1 at Signal Iduna Park. When asked about this achievement, he said: "Football is not what you did in the past, but what you did in the present. The four goals against Real have happened for a long time."

This summer, Lewandowski closed eight years in Bayern to join Barca under the deal worth 50 million USD. The 33-year-old striker launched a new club in the 1-0 victory in America. He played for nearly 60 minutes, with the most dangerous situation was the ball buffer after Raphinha's horizontal line in the first half.

Lewandowski once kicked under Pep Guardiola in Bayern, and felt the Spanish coach's method similar to Xavi. He added: "I can easily adapt to the current Xavi system, because I have worked with Guardiola for many years. They are two great coaches, attaching great importance to tactical aspects."

The 33-year-old striker said that his teammates helped a lot when they get used to the new environment and put the Champions League ambition to win the Champions League season 2022-2023. "I came here to win the title and Champions League as the most important title, but you have to take step by step," Lewandowski emphasized.

7h30 today 27/7, Hanoi, Lewandowski and Barca will play the next friendly match in the US, against Juventus.
