Lewandowski 'shares a tray' with Ronaldo and Messi
In the 5-0 win over Royal Antwerp, in the Champions League opening round, Lewandowski contributed a goal to double the gap. After receiving Joao Felix's cross, the Polish striker placed the ball into goalkeeper Jean Butez's net.
Thanks to that, Lewandowski has 100 goals in European Cups, including two Champions League and UEFA/Europa League tournaments. His detailed achievements include six goals for Lech Poznan (Poland), 18 goals for Dortmund (Germany), 69 goals for Bayern (Germany) and seven goals for Barca (Spain).
Before Lewandowski, only two players achieved three-digit achievements in European Cups: Cristiano Ronaldo (143 goals) and Lionel Messi (129 goals).
Ronaldo's achievements include 140 goals in the Champions League, one goal in the Champions League qualifying round and two goals in the Europa League. He also holds the record for scoring goals in the Champions League. Messi scored all 129 goals in the Champions League. The Argentine striker contributed 120 goals in 149 matches for Barca and nine goals in 14 matches for PSG. Ronaldo and Messi both have no chance to improve their achievements if they do not return to Europe. CR7 is playing for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia, while Messi went to the US to play for Inter Miami.
Last season, Lewandowski scored six goals in seven Champions League and Europa League matches for Barca. However, the Spanish team stopped in the Champions League group stage and the Europa League play-off round. This season, Barca has a better chance of advancing when it is in Group H with Royal Antwerp, FC Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk. If they lead, they will avoid the other top teams and have a wide path to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
At club level, Lewandowski has a record of 577 goals. He scored 38 goals for Znicz Pruszkow, 41 goals for Lech Poznan, 103 goals for Dortmund, 344 goals for Bayern and 37 goals for Barca. With the Polish team, he has 81 goals.
