The director of Bayern Hasan Salihamidzic confirmed the agreement to buy Sadio Mane from Liverpool on June 17.

"Mane is on his way to Bayern," Salihamidzic told Sky Sports after meeting with Liverpool's England representative. The two sides have reached an agreement and are completing the paperwork to announce the deal.

According to pro-Liverpool reporter Paul Joyce, Bayern will pay Liverpool $34 million, an additional $6 million based on Mane's number of matches and 3 million based on individual and collective achievements. The maximum amount Bayern will have to pay will be $43 million for the 30-year-old striker.

Mane joined Liverpool summer 2016 from Southampton for $ 42 million. He immediately became a pillar of the team, scoring 120 goals after 269 matches. Senegal striker contributed significantly to Liverpool to win the Champions League, European Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup 2019, English Premier League 2020, FA Cup and Cup of 2022. He also won the Premier League King in 2018-2019 season , with Mohamed Salah and Aubameyang with 22 goals.

Mane has long expressed his desire to join Bayern, and Liverpool don't want to stand in the way. But they only agreed to sell Mane shortly after signing 23-year-old striker Darwin Nunez from Benfica for a transfer fee of up to $107 million.

The Mane deal could further free up another striker, Robert Lewandowski, for him to move to Barca at will. Chelsea and PSG are also interested in Lewandowski, but Bayern are not yet keen to sell him.

In the summer of 2022, Liverpool broke up with seven players for the end of the contract, including goalkeeper Loris Karius or striker Divock Origi. They recruited midfielder Fabio Carvalho from Fulham, and Nunez.
