They became the second, third and fifth fastest marathon runners in the world with the best individual scores of 2 hours, 1 minute and 41 seconds, 2 hours, 2 minutes and 48 seconds and 2 hours, 2 minutes and 55 seconds respectively.

Bekele, 40, is in the final stages of his career peak but will still aim for another title to add to his personal record. The runner finished third in the 2016 London Marathon and second in 2017.
