London Marathon takes elite competitions.

The 2022 London Marathon will feature three of the five fastest runners on Earth.

Topping the list of professional male runners for the London Marathon are three Ethiopian runners, including Kenenisa Bekele, Birhanu Legese and Mosinet Geremew. They became the second, third and fifth fastest marathon runners in the world with the best individual scores of 2 hours, 1 minute and 41 seconds, 2 hours, 2 minutes and 48 seconds and 2 hours, 2 minutes and 55 seconds respectively.

This year's London Marathon is scheduled to be held in London, England on October 2nd.

Bekele, 40, is in the final stages of his career peak but will still aim for another title to add to his personal record. The runner finished third in the 2016 London Marathon and second in 2017. Injuries have severely affected Bekele's performances in recent years after he won the 2019 Berlin Marathon in a personal record.

Bekele has won the Olympic 10,000m three times (Athens, Greece, 2004), the 5,000m and the 10,000m (Beijing, China, 2008).
