The AVC Cup 2022 volleyball tournament is the 6th time the Vietnamese women's volleyball team attended. In the 6 attendance, the best achievement of Vietnamese girls is to rank 4 final in the 2012 season.

In September 2012, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team set out to Almaty, Kazakhstan to attend the Asian Women's Volleyball Cup 2012, which brings together the top 8 national teams including China, Japan, Thailand, Thailand, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Iran and Taiwan (China).

Before the tournament took place, no one thought that Vietnamese girls could create seismic and surprises in Kazakhstan. However, the squad with familiar faces Ngoc Hoa, Kim Hue, Do Thi Minh, Pham Thi Yen, Nguyen Thi Xuan, ... have created a miracle when defeating Japan - Asian runner -up and Huy Chapter Chapter Olympic 2012 in the group stage. In the semi -finals, we were unable to overcome Thailand and in the bronze medal match, the Vietnamese women's team continued to lose to the host Kazakhstan. However, the first time Vietnamese girls won the 4th Asian Cup 2012 is an unprecedented achievement in the history of Vietnamese women's volleyball.

At the most recent AVC Cup volleyball tournament, in 2018 held at Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand with the presence of 10 teams. At that time, teachers and coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet were in Group B with champions of China and Taiwan China. In the match, the Vietnamese women's team received a lot of losses against the defending team.

Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet at that time launched the squad of many U23 players with the goal of helping young players get used to the pressure in the top matches to gain experience. It can be said that Vietnamese girls have played efforts and although failure is a foretold, but what teachers and coaches Nguyen Tuan Kiet learned in this match were very large. The limitations in the defense, on the net of attack as well as the way to organize the match clearly reveal.

In the remaining group stage match, Vietnamese women's team won a dramatic 3-2 victory over Taiwan China, gaining the right to the quarterfinals. In the quarterfinals, although he won the first set, before the strong opponent was Japan, teachers and coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet had to receive a defeat of 1-3. And in the 5-6 division match, the Vietnamese women's team quickly won 3-0 easily against Korea, ranked 5 final.

With the best achievement, there is also the worst achievement. The 2014 AVC Cup season is the season when the Vietnamese women's team has the worst achievement, which is the 8th position. That year, Vietnam shared the table with Thailand, Iran and South Korea. The coach at that time was Mr. Pham Van Long and his students only won a single victory against Iran. Entering the final round is a series of 3 consecutive defeats of teachers and coach Pham Van Long. The Vietnamese team lost to Japan with a score of 1-3 in the quarterfinals, losing to Thailand and Iran in the match. In the end, the Vietnamese women's team ranked 8.

At this year's AVC volleyball tournament, the Vietnamese women's team continues to share the table with "old acquaintances" Korea, China, Philippines and Iran. Currently, coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet and his students are present at the National Sports Training Center (Nhon) to practice, then will leave for Thailand to train before attending AVC Cup in the Philippines in the end of August.
