Italy striker Romelu Lukaku scored the second goal in Serie A this season, with a penalty kick opening the scoring in Inter's 3-1 win over Udinese in round 23 on the evening of February 18.

In the 17th minute, after going to the border to review the video, referee Federico Dionisi determined that Denzel Dumfries was fouled by Walace in the penalty area and gave Inter a penalty. On the 11m mark, Lukaku sank to the right corner and was saved by Marco Silvestri. But VAR again stepped in and identified a Udinese player who had run into the box before Lukaku had finished. Performed again, the 29-year-old striker continued to sink to the right corner. This time, Silvestri still guessed the right direction but couldn't touch the ball.

The Belgian striker ended a 189-day absence in Serie A, since scoring in the 2nd minute of the 2-1 win over Lecce on August 13, 2022. This is also Lukaku's first goal at home in Serie A since the 5-1 win over Udinese on May 23, 2021.

Inter dominated and scored the second in the 73rd minute. From Federico Dimarco's left wing cross, Henrikh Mkhitaryan put his right foot into the far corner and hit the visitors' net. Dimarco has contributed to five goals at home in Serie A this season, with three goals and two assists, the best numbers in defenders, equal to Monza's Carlos Augusto and Milan's Theo Hernandez.

The home side closed the day sublime in the 89th minute. Danilo D`Ambrosio waved from home for Lautaro Martinez to break the offside trap, penetrate the penalty area and finish Silvestri diagonally. This is the Argentine striker's 13th goal in Serie A this season, and 16 in all competitions.

On the opposite side, Udinese only scored one goal at the end of the first half. In the 43rd minute, Roberto Pereyra created an assist for Sandi Lovric to finish in an empty position with the roof of Samir Handanovic.

For the first time, Milan won two consecutive matches in Serie A after the 2022 World Cup. In the previous round, the army under Stefano Pioli defeated Torino also with a score of 1-0. Before these two rounds, Milan only won two points from five matches.

These results help Milan and Inter keep their positions. Milan is third with 44 points, Inter has 47 points and is 15 points behind Napoli. On February 22, Inter received Porto in the first leg of the 1/8 Champions League round, while Milan played the next match against Atalanta on February 26.
