Maguire likes the post of Ronaldo who is unhappy with Manchester United
On 6 July, the Instagram account of Manchester-based news website Sportbible said Ronaldo was disappointed with a 25 percent pay cut next season because United were unable to play in the Champions League. If he does not find a new destination in the summer of 2022, Cristiano Ronaldo-the highest paid man in the Premier League-will have to cut his weekly salary from $570,000 to $430,000.
The post was praised by Maguire's official account, and the England midfielder subsequently admitted the move on BBC Sport. But Maguire also immediately explained that he just accidentally pressed it wrong and gave up "like".
However, many Manchester United fans are not satisfied with Maguire's work and continue to demand that the 29-year-old midfielder be stripped of his captain's armband. "Maguire should not have played another game for Manchester United," the Twitter account @ steazyutd stressed. "This move by the United captain is ridiculous," @ zeeshanxz wrote and flagged Maguire.
"Maguire is absolutely the worst player to captain Manchester United. It represents a horrible standard for the club," @ manutd_adi fumed.
Maguire has been embroiled in rumours of a power battle with Ronaldo since the middle of last season. Interim coach Ralph Ronnick is said to have asked Ronaldo to keep the captain's armband to ease the pressure on Maguire. However, the England midfielder refused when he didn't want to lose the Manchester United captain's armband. He would only agree to cede the role of captain to Ronaldo for the remainder of the 2021-2022 season.
This weekend, United fly to Thailand for a tour and face Liverpool in their preseason opener on July 12. After that, "Red Devils" will go to Australia to play friendly matches with Melbourne Victory (July 15th), Crystal Palace (July 19th) and Aston Villa (July 23rd).
