Man City vs Liverpool judgment: It's easy to go, it's hard to come back
Before the 2022/23 season took place, Man City and Liverpool were evaluated by experts as two strong candidates for the championship. However, after 2/3 of the season, only Man City maintained stability when ranked in 2nd place and still had the opportunity to compete for the championship.
On the other side of the field, Liverpool is no longer who they are and is soon excluded from the race to win the silver cup this season. In fact, with their poor performance at the moment, Klopp's teachers and students are still at risk of missing the top 4 (the group that participates in the Champions League next season).
Most recently, Liverpool had just lost 0-1 at Bournemouth and was only in 6th place with 42 points and 7 points behind the top 4. However, Liverpool played 2 matches less than the 4th ranked team Tottenham and they will have to work harder to raise their hopes of participating in the European Cup.
Back to the great battle at the Etihad Stadium, Liverpool is a team that suffers from many disadvantages when they have to play away from home. Remember, Salah and his teammates have just lost 4 and won only 1 time in the last 6 away matches and NHM will have to consider when placing their trust in Liverpool. In contrast, Man City maintained stability when winning the last 6 matches in all competitions.
