Man Utd agree to sell Maguire to West Ham

Two days after rejecting West Ham's $38 million bid for Maguire, Man Utd changed his mind. On August 9, they agreed to sell the England midfielder to the London team for the above price. The deal is expected to be completed soon, when the personal terms between Maguire and West Ham are judged to be not a big deal.

Man Utd accepted a loss of nearly $ 60 million, compared to the record $ 97 million they spent to recruit Maguire from Leicester in 2019. The 30-year-old midfielder has long been no longer part of Erik Ten Hag's plan and belongs to area to be liquidated.

West Ham are also asking to buy Man Utd's Scott McTominay for the same price as Maguire, but were refused. The "Red Devils" side believes that McTominay is worth half that amount.
