Man Utd lose third game in a row

Coach Erik ten Hag used the second formation in the first half, but Man Utd dominated and opened the scoring in the 24th minute from defender Diogo Dalot's beautiful cut from afar.

However, the "Red Devils" defense continuously made mistakes and conceded two goals in the last two minutes of the first half. Antony equalized 2-2 early in the second half, but defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka dangerously missed leading to Youssoufa Moukoko's decisive goal.

Man Utd's main line-up came on in the 61st minute, and created a few good chances but missed. Marcus Rashford and Antony shot in a row in the penalty area in the 83rd minute, then it was the turn of 20-year-old striker Joe Hugill to face the goalkeeper but they did not turn the opportunity into a goal. These missed phases show that Man Utd is lacking in strikers, when they have just reached an agreement to recruit Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta but have not officially announced it.

Man Utd started well in the match in Las Vegas, with the sub-team. Jadon Sancho continues to have to kick the central striker not to his forte, but he does quite well the connection task. The team's limitation lies in the position of 19-year-old right midfielder Omari Forson, when he squandered an opportunity and received a yellow card for a scuffle with an opponent. Forson was given many opportunities during the summer tour but failed to work, and he was withdrawn in the 36th minute.

Coach Ten Hag reminded Forson on the touchline for a long time, when the midfielder clearly showed his disappointment. After that, he was encouraged by his teammates before returning to his seat.

At the end of the first half, Dortmund equalized 1-1 thanks to Malen's close-range ball. A minute later, centre-back Victor Lindelof missed a cross in front of the penalty area, allowing Marcel Sabitzer to steal it and open a slot for Malen to score. Sabitzer played for Man Utd in the second half of last season on loan from Bayern Munich, but was not allowed to extend his contract by the "Red Devils".

This is Man Utd's third consecutive defeat in the US tour, after losing 1-3 to Wrexham and Real Madrid 0-2. In particular, in the defeat to Wrexham, Man Utd only used young players, no one in the main squad.

After this match, Ten Hag's teachers and students will return to England to play two more friendly matches with Lens on August 5 and Athletic Bilbao on August 6. They will start the Premier League season 2023-2024 against Wolves on the evening of August 14.
