Spain lost 0-3 to Sevilla in the second leg, Man Utd was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Europa League with a final score of 2-5.

After owning an own goal in the first leg, centre-back Harry Maguire became a "criminal" at Sanchez Pizjuan when he lost the ball leading to the first goal. Without Bruno Fernandes, while Marcus Rashford was on the bench, Man Utd did not create many dangerous opportunities. The visitors even conceded another goal early in the second half from a set-piece, and then goalkeeper David de Gea made a confusing error leading to the third goal at the end of the game.

"This defeat is like a 0-7 loss to Liverpool," former midfielder Robbie Savage said of Man Utd on BT Sport. "They played so badly."

Sevilla is only ranked 13th in La Liga, but is still the king of the Europa League. The audience at Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium impressed with the white costumes like the team's traditional colors, all over the corners of the stands. They created a lively atmosphere, seemingly causing Man Utd players to repeatedly pass errors or lose the ball dangerously.

Sevilla's opener came from a situation like that, when they applied high pressure. Maguire asked for the ball from De Gea despite three home players rushing in. Man Utd captain central defender received the ball and then passed it straight to Erik Lamela's feet, to the position of striker En-Nesyri. In the face-to-face, the Morocco striker put his left foot in the near corner, causing De Gea to stand still and watch the ball roll into the net.

Man Utd's net vibrated for the second time in the 40th minute, this time it was Casemiro's turn to pass the error. En-Nesyri trimmed the ball to the left for Marcos Acuna to cross for Lucas Ocampos to cut his heart into the far corner. The referee recognized the goal, but then VAR reported Acuna was offside, causing the goal to be cancelled.

But the hosts didn't have to wait too long to score the second. More than a minute after the break, midfielder Ivan Rakitic took a corner from the right for central defender Loic Bade to head the ball into the far corner. Goalkeeper De Gea jumped up but did not reach, letting the ball graze the crossbar and into the net. This time nothing can cancel the goal for Sevilla.

In the second half, coach Erik ten Hag in turn brought Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw or Wout Weghorst into the field but could not turn the situation around. They lack a player capable of making the ball like Fernandes, not to mention the team's mentality is also more or less affected by the atmosphere at Sanchez Pizjuan.

In the third goal of the away team, it was De Gea's turn to make a serious mistake. He rushed out of the penalty area to catch a high ball without pressure. But De Gea passed directly into the foot of En-Nesyri so that the striker left his foot into the empty goal to seal a 3-0 victory for Sevilla.

Man Utd were eliminated in the first arena this season, and they only played in two fronts, the FA Cup and the English Premier League. Due to no longer playing in the Europa League, Ten Hag's teachers and students can focus on protecting their top 4 position to attend the Champions League next season, and that may be the only consolation for them after this defeat. In the next match, Man Utd meets Brighton at Wembley in the FA Cup semi-final on Sunday, April 23.

Sevilla entered the semi-finals and will meet Juventus - the team that won Sporting Lisbon in the final 2-1 in the quarterfinals. The other semi-finals will take place between Bayer Leverkusen and either Roma or Feyenoord.

Man Utd: De Gea, Wan-Bissaka (Shaw 46), Maguire, Lindelof, Dalot, Eriksen (Elanga 86), Casemiro, Sabitzer (Fred 68), Antony, Martial (Weghorst 54), Sancho (Rashford 46).
