Man Utd striker was mocked for missing an opportunity

In the second half of injury time, Bruno Fernandes took a free kick on the left wing. The ball bounced in the penalty area, to the position of Facundo Pellistri for the midfielder to volley, passing to the far post where Weghorst was standing. The Dutch striker leaned over to finish, but hit the ball into the post from less than 2 meters away.

On Twitter, one fan wrote: "As a Dutchman, I apologize for the miss of Wout Weghorst". Another commented: "Weghorst is really allergic to scoring."

Weghorst impressed and occupied the starting position since moving to Man Utd in January. He is highly appreciated for his contribution to the team's playstyle. In contrast, the striker's ability to score goals is a question mark.

"Weghorst is really bad at finishing. I didn't expect him to be so bad," one person commented on the Man Utd striker. "I assure you I'm better at soccer than Weghorst," another joked.

Not only Weghorst missed the opportunity to open the scoring for Man Utd in Betis' away trip to Benito Villamarin. Early in the second half, it was Marcus Rashford's turn to fail to face goalkeeper Rui Silva despite being in a comfortable position.

However, Man Utd still left with a victory when Rashford scored a super long shot in the 55th minute, scoring the only goal of the match. Victory with a total score of 5-1 after two legs put Man Utd into the quarter-finals and they will know the opponent in the draw at 6pm on March 17 (Hanoi time).
