Marca: 'Real helps Barca buy Lewandowski'

Spain through Sixth Street investment fund, friends of Real Florentino Perez is said to have pumped money for Barca to buy Robert Lewandowski this summer.

According to Marca, Sixth Street was originally a business partner of Real. The most prominent activity of this investment fund is to buy 30% of the Bernabeu's operating revenue for 20 years. This investment fund also cooperated with Key Capital, the company owned and managed by two friends of Perez, to sponsor Real to upgrade the yard.

The turning point led to the cooperation between Sixth Street and Barca when the Catalonian team was about to sign a contract with CVC, another investment fund introduced by the La Liga organizers. Sixth Street offers $ 600 million for 25% of La Liga television rights for 25 years, more attractive than US $ 270 million for 10% of CVC's 50% of the copyright. As a result, Barca chose Sixth Street and had money to buy a series of players this summer, including Lewandowski.

The Sixth Street's cooperation with Barca is also related to the Super League, the potential tournament that Barca and Real are the two founding members. At the request of CVC, if signing copyright contracts, Barca must remove the Super League. This fund wants to make sure the Camp Nou team does not keep the best players for the Super League and is detrimental to La Liga. "The fact is that Perez's friends have granted the most obnoxious opponent of Real to buy the best center Lewandowski. Perhaps the two clubs are closer than what we imagine," Marca concluded .

In addition to La Liga television copyright, Barca also sells 24.5% of Barca Studios, equivalent to half of the shares allowed to sell, and sell the yard name to Spotify. These two levers bring a total of US $ 336 million.

Currently, Barca still has difficulty registering for new players. According to La Liga's regulations, the former champion team can only use 15% of new revenue to increase the salary fund. If the salary is not promptly reduced or earn more revenue, Barca will not be able to register a rookie for the season 2022-2023. Last season, Barca's salary fund exceeded 100% of revenue.

Barca will start La Liga with Rayo Vallecano on August 14.
