Mbappe can sue PSG

FrancePSG plans to ban Kylian Mbappe from playing until the end of August 2023, but he can sue the team after the summer transfer window closes.

On August 8, PSG removed Mbappe's image outside the team's headquarters, after stopping selling all products with the image of the 25-year-old superstar. The Ligue 1 champions still keep the points: either Mbappe must leave in the summer of 2023, or renew his contract, otherwise he will continue to be isolated from the team.

Mbappe is still having to train separately with players who are no longer in the plans of PSG. Most likely, he will not be able to attend the Ligue 1 2023-2024 opening match against Lorient on August 12. The top scorer of the 2022 World Cup is also at risk of not playing until the end of August, even the end of the season if he still refuses to yield. His view is still to play for PSG for one more season, and then move to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 on a free form.

It's been 40 days since Mbappe made it clear he would not trigger an extension with PSG. "I am still happy in Paris and will be playing for the team for the season 2023-2024," he wrote in a statement at the end of June 2023.

Mbappe will not want to be quarantined for the rest of next season, as that could affect his form and chances of qualifying for Euro 2024. But the law will protect him if he is quarantined for unrelated reasons. to sports, according to the Spanish newspaper AS. Mbappe could sue PSG after the transfer window closes in early September.

Midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa also fell into a similar situation, at PSG in the 2017-2018 season. Coach Unai Emery then banned Arfa from playing for the whole season, but it makes no sense that he also prevented this player from training or using equipment with the first team. Arfa won the case because PSG violated article 507 of the regulations of the French Professional Footballers Association. Ligue 1 teams and players must follow this rule.

PSG tried to sell Mbappe to a Saudi club, but the striker refused. It seems that he has reached a tacit agreement to join Real for free for another 10 months. The Spanish club is also ready to play in the 2023-2024 season without a top-class striker.

However, the recent moves of PSG show that they do not want to go into the water. The team reached an agreement to recruit Ousmane Dembele from Barca, and Goncalo Ramos from Benfica, to be ready for the prospect of not needing Mbappe next season.
