On November 17, McIlroy had six driver shots with ball speeds ranging from 294.51 to 305.77 km/h in the first round of the grand final of Europe's first-class golf arena.

With such a range of ball speeds, McIlroy topped the opening distance statistics, 329 yards while the overall level reached 298.5 yards.

Farthest from the list, but McIlroy hit only seven of the 14 fairways of the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai, hitting the green on a 13-hole standard and 29 putts for the whole round.

With this professional performance, McIlroy hit a total of 71 strokes, thanks to the birdie on the 18th hole, he was -1 and six strokes off the top of the table, and 17 holes before, he "break even" when he scored four birdies and four bogeys. The birdies are in the first half of the field.

"I certainly didn't expect a result like that. I missed in the second half and it was thanks to the birdie on the last hole that I got a negative score," McIlroy summed up his own form.

The Northern Ireland golfer admitted to hitting less sharp after three weeks of relaxation. McIlroy calculates the recent recovery time since holding the CJ Cup on the PGA Tour on October 23.

In the DP World Tour Championship 2022, McIlroy topped the scoreboard converted from the whole season. In fact, he only participated in nine points for a total of 4,154 points. But in this achievement, the part from the major quartet accounted for 2,377 points, the rest from the five tournaments hosted by the DP World Tour.

This year's DP World Tour Championship grand final, as usual, is only for the top 50 pooled scoreboards. Round 2 ended on the evening of November 18, Hanoi time with the first place to -12 still held by Tyrrell Hatton and Matt Fitzpatrick while McIlroy went to T11 (-5). The tournament will end on 11/20. If he finishes first, McIlroy will retain the throne of the first-class golf arena in Europe and the United States, when combining the FedEx Cup with $ 18 million on the PGA Tour in August. On the DP World Tour (the new name of the European Tour from 2022), McIlroy has three times as king – 2012, 2014, 2015, similar to PGA Tour – 2016, 2019, 2022.

McIlroy is 33 years old, has been playing professionally since 2007, until now he owns four majors in 23 PGA Tour championships, in addition to 10 DP World Tour cups and has accumulated 110 weeks of being number one in the world, including this week.
