Rory Mcilroy achieved a rare professional performance in the final round, but could not win the Major championship by Royal & Ancient on July 17.

The 150th tournament at the Old Par72 Stadium belongs to the St Andrews club in Scotland - which is considered the source of golf.

After three rounds, Mcilroy and Viktor Hovland stand T1 (point -16), and the next position -T3 four sticks, including Cameron Smith and Cameron Young. Despite the lead, Mcilroy, more experienced and trophy than Hovland, was expected to hold the Claret Jug trophy and ended eight years thirst for the title of Major.

The last round, Mcilroy on Green according to the standard (GIR) all 18 holes, no Bogey.

With this result, the history of the Major prizes recorded only Mcilroy held the top after three rounds and reached GIR absolute and not Bogey in the last round, but could not return first. If separating Gir, Mcilroy will add Jason Day at The Open 2015, also at St Andrews.

However, in all times of gir holes, the number one former world of Northern Ireland people is far away from the target, recording only two Birdie and stuck at -18 from hole 10.

In the last round of the last period, Mcilroy passed through each hole twice, a total of 36 Putting while Smith with 29 Putting eight Birdie and not Bogey.

"I am not much negligent. Particularly the technique is very good, but the ball does not go in, such as the pit 13 to 17. Such a situation is disappointing," Mcilroy lamented on golf channel when the battle was finished. In fact, from the 11 to 18 hole, the A -class player at the PGA Tour is not allowed to find Birdie under 4.2 meters, even three times at least 12 meters away.

While Mcilroy "trampled on the spot", Smith sublimated from the hole 10. He recorded the Birdie five series, monopolized the first place at the 14th hole and recorded Birdie hole 18 to champion at the -20 point. Young came second (-19) thanks to the last hole Eagle, Hovland ranked T4 (-14), while Mcilroy ranked third (-18).

Mcilroy won The Open 2014 - the fourth title in the current four Major. Before this tournament, Mcilroy said he always dreamed of Claret Jug at St Andrews and compares that victory as he received "Holy Cup". And with unfortunate results, the 33 -year -old star is still optimistic: "After all, after this period, I will have a chance to win The Open and other Major tournaments".

Mcilroy has been professional since 2007, to now own 21 PGA Tour titles through 217 prizes with a total bonus of 65.75 million USD, accumulating 106 weeks to keep the world's number one.
