Messi hits 700 club-level goals
With the goal to increase the score to 2-0 in the 29th minute of the match against Marseille in the 25th round of Ligue 1, Messi reached 28 goals for PSG. Along with 672 goals scored for Barca between 2003-2021, Messi has a total of 700 club goals.
On October 9, last year, Cristiano Ronaldo hit 700 goals when he scored in the 10th round of the Premier League, in the match Man Utd beat Everton 2-1. Only two players have scored 700 or more goals at club level in Europe, Ronaldo and Messi.
Ronaldo left Man Utd to move to Saudi Arabia to play for Al Nassr, at a time when he had 701 club-level goals in Europe. This means that Messi only needs two more goals to hold the record in the above category.
Also in the match against Marseille, Messi twice assisted Kylian Mbappe to score. Thanks to that, the French striker reached 200 goals for PSG, equaling Edinson Cavani's record. Mbappe only needs 246 matches to score 200 goals for the Capital team, and Cavani needs 301 matches.
The duo Messi - Mbappe starred at all three goals of the classic French match. Messi twice assisted Mbappe, and the French superstar also responded once. In the classic French matches against Marseille alone, Mbappe scored nine goals, just two less than Zlatan Ibrahimovic's record.
Thanks to the brilliance of Mbappe and Messi, PSG treated the second team of Marseille. The 3-0 victory helped teachers and students Christopher Galtier widen the gap with the second team in the group to eight points.
