More Thai women's volleyball stars join V.League after winning the Asian championship
Wimonrat Tanaphan has parted ways with 3BB Nakornnon VC to join Toray Arrows - the current runner-up of the Japanese national women's volleyball championship V.League. In addition to the Thai assistant, Toray Arrows also recruited Italian team player Sylvia Nwakalor.
Wimorat was summoned by coach Danai Srwacharamaytakul to attend SEA Games 32, two SEA V.League stages and the 2023 Asian Championship. The 1m80 tall assistant has received many compliments after what he has shown recently. Born in 2002, Wimonrat Tanaphan is considered a rising talent, expected to soon become a key factor in Thai women's volleyball.
Previously, the mainstay of the Thai team Ajcharaporn Kongyot became a member of NEC Red Rottgets - the defending V.League champion. In the 2023-2024 V.League season, the striker who has just contributed to helping Thailand win its third Asian championship will play American player Dani Drews. This is the third time the 28-year-old female athlete has played soccer abroad. Previously, Ajcharaporn played for Indonesia's Jakarta BNI 48 Club (2018-19), and fought for 2 seasons in the Turkish National Championship for Sarier Beleddiespor Club (2021 to 2023).
Another star of the Thai women's volleyball team also decided to try her hand in Japan, which is Chatchu-on Moksri. The star born in 1999 of Thai women's volleyball will play for Victoria Himeji. Before moving to V.League, Chatchu-on Moksri was Ajcharaporn's teammate at Sarier Beleddiespor. This is Chatchu-on Moksri's second time playing football in Japan. In the 2018-19 season, she played for PFU BlueCats - the team where Vietnam women's volleyball team captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy is playing.
Chatchu-on Moksri is one of the stars who left a strong mark in the 2023 Asian championship of the Thai women's volleyball team. She was voted the best athlete of the tournament.
