The European Football Federation (UEFA) selects 20 people to the Advisory Council, including coaches Jose Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti or Zinedine Zidane.

According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the Advisory Council was approved by UEFA last month and will meet for the first time on April 24. Besides the famous coaches, the council also includes former players such as Luis Figo, Rio Ferdinand, Juan Mata, Robbie Keane and Petr Cech.

To be selected by UEFA, these names must win at least one major title or have more than 100 international matches. The Council will advise UEFA to resolve issues related to competition rules, referees, tournaments and the rights of coaches and players.

The council will be chaired by Zvonimir Boban, a former Milan midfielder, with the support of UEFA Chief Referee Roberto Rosetti.

The establishment of the Advisory Council is seen as a move for UEFA to ensure the integrity of football, against divisions such as the idea of establishing a Super League of a group of leading European clubs occurring in 2021.

"The Super League is like the wolf in Little Red Riding Hood. It disguises itself as a grandmother and is ready to eat you alive," UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin described the figures behind the Super League in a speech at the University UEFA congress in Lisbon last month. He argues that the creators of the Super League have a reputation for saving European football from the abyss, but are in fact selfish and greedy.

Three clubs Real, Barca and Juventus are said to be still promoting the establishment of the Super League. The tournament with 12 of the most powerful clubs in Europe announced its establishment in April 2021. But the plan quickly fell apart in just 48 hours when fans simultaneously boycotted the clubs, especially the group of English teams.
