Italy Coach Jose Mourinho did not attend the press conference after Roma lost 1-2 at home to Milan in the third round of Serie A.

This is Mourinho's first match of the new season, after he and assistant Salvatore Foti were suspended for the first two rounds of Serie A for insulting referee Daniele Chiffi last season.

Before the match, "Special One" shared with DAZN channel, but did not attend the post-match media mission because of dissatisfaction with the referee's decision.

At Olimpico Stadium, referee Antonio Rapuano caused controversy in the 6th minute. Ruben Loftus-Cheek sparred with Theo Hernandez and then entered the penalty area, hitting Gianluca Mancini before being cleared by Zeki Celik. But after going to the sideline to review the video, Rapuano believed that goalkeeper Rui Patricio had stopped Loftus-Cheek before the ball was cleared, so he awarded Milan a penalty.

On the 11m mark, Olivier Giroud shot high to the left corner, opposite Patricio's judgment to open the score. On the sideline, Mourinho continuously clapped his hands and gave a sarcastic thumbs up for the referee's decision.

At the beginning of the second half, from Davide Calabria's cross, Rafael Leao hooked Patricio with his right foot at an angle, doubling the gap for Milan.

But in the 61st minute, Roma was overplayed, when Fikayo Tomori tripped Andrea Belotti and received a second yellow card. However, they only scored one goal thanks to a shot from outside the box that smashed the direction of Leonardo Spinazzola.

Roma are starting their worst season since 1950-1951 when they won only one point from the first three matches, drawing Salernitana 2-2, respectively, losing to Hellas Verona and Milan with the same score 1-2. Not only that, "Giallorossi" also suffered personnel losses when rookie Houssem Aouar was injured and left the field in the 31st minute, while Paulo Dybala, Sardar Azmoun and Renato Sanches were absent due to injury.

After the game, midfielder Bryan Cristante replaced Mourinho spoke to the media. "Small situations are making the difference, as Roma conceded six goals from eight shots on target," he said. "We need to take advantage of the international break to regain our form and continue in the best possible way. Today, Roma did not play well, and we know that we have to do more to win. point".

On the opposite side, coach Stefano Pioli said that Milan had a good performance, overwhelmed in all aspects and only had difficulties after playing with a lack of people. The 57-year-old coach praised Leao for scoring a beautiful goal, but emphasized that Milan must improve a lot to look forward to the derby against Inter on September 16. Meanwhile, after a break to make way for the team, Roma will host Empoli on September 17.
