Former Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann is likely to sit in the hot seat at Chelsea, after this club sacked Graham Potter.

European bookies apply the odds of Nagelsmann leading Chelsea at 10/11 (set 11 to 10). Former Tottenham and PSG coach, Mauricio Pochettino ranked second with a ratio of 7/2. Former Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane ranked third with a ratio of 6/1.

Incumbent coach of Man City, Pep Guardiola is also on the expected list, with a ratio of 17/2. Oliver Glasner - coach and Eintracht Frankfurt won the Europa League last season and reached the 1/8 round of the Champions League this season - ranked right behind with a ratio of 10/1.

The list of candidates, according to the bookmakers, also includes the current coach of Brentford, Thomas Frank (12/1), Jose Mourinho (14/1), Carlo Ancelotti (20/1), John Terry (20/1). ), Frank Lampard (January 25) and Antonio Conte (January 25). Mourinho, Ancelotti, Lampard and Conte are all former Chelsea managers.

Roberto De Zerbi has a low position on the list when it is only applied with a ratio of 66/1. According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea may not want to appoint another Brighton coach after parting with Potter.

Potter won only 12 of his 31 games in charge of Chelsea. Losing to Aston Villa 0-2 on April 1 and falling to 11th place in the Premier League made the board lose patience with Potter. Pending the appointment of a new head coach, Potter's assistant - Bruno Saltor - will act as interim coach.

Chelsea is the strongest investment team for the 2022-2023 season. New owner Todd Boehly spent $300 million in the 2022 summer transfer window and another 400 million in the January 2023 transfer window. Chelsea started the season with former manager Thomas Tuchel. However, due to disagreements over how to build the team, Boehly fired Tuchel after just seven games.

Chelsea have 10 Premier League matches left from 2022-2023, starting with the reception of Liverpool on April 4. In the Champions League, they will be Real's guests in the first leg of the quarter-finals on April 12, then return to Stamford Bridge for the return leg on April 18. In the FA Cup and League Cup, Chelsea were both soon eliminated after losing 0-4 and 0-2 to Man City.

Nagelsmann was just sacked by Bayern on March 24, because of his erratic form after the World Cup and disagreements in the dressing room. However, before being sacked, Nagelsmann helped Bayern win all eight games of the Champions League season. He also achieved a win rate of 71.4% with Bayern, just behind former coaches Hansi Flick and Pep Guardiola.

Nagelsmann leads Bayern from the 2021-2022 season. The 35-year-old coach won a Bundesliga and two German Super Cups with the Allianz Arena team. Before that, he brought Leipzig to second place in the Bundesliga season 2020-2021.

After sacking Nagelsmann, Bayern chose Tuchel himself to replace. In his debut on April 2, Tuchel helped Bayern beat Dortmund 4-2 and return to the top of the Bundesliga.
