Coach Julian Nagelsmann felt the lack of trust and inconsistency of the Chelsea leadership, so he withdrew from the race for the hot seat at Stamford Bridge.

According to Sky Sports, Nagelsmann has never been rated as the favorite candidate for this job within Chelsea. The German is also hesitant about the role and feels Chelsea's diverse shortlist reflects a lack of clarity on the direction of the club.

Before that, he said "it's important as a coach to get the trust of the club" and the most attractive thing is "to work at a club with a clear structure, where not 20 people have the same opinion. you go in different directions".

The conflict increased when the leader of Stamford Bridge wanted to thoroughly evaluate all candidates before deciding. Nagelsmann, dissatisfied with repeated interviews and requests for information, withdrew from negotiations.

Previously, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano posted similar information when saying that this was Nagelsmann's final decision.

The new German coach was sacked by Bayern on March 24, because of his erratic form after the 2022 World Cup and disagreements in the dressing room. This was a controversial decision when Nagelsmann helped Bayern win all eight games of the Champions League season and still had a chance to treble. He also achieved a win rate of 71.4% at the Allianz Arena, just behind the two former coaches Hansi Flick and Pep Guardiola.

Earlier, Telegraph reported that Luis Enrique could not convince Chelsea owners and was excluded from the list of bright candidates. The Spanish coach is said to want to add quality contracts and ask for a time of at least three years to bring the club to compete for the title. The Chelsea side did not agree with this plan of Enrique.

According to Sky Sports, Chelsea currently shortens the list to three coaches, with Mauricio Pochettino being the strongest candidate. The former Tottenham manager has met the Chelsea representative twice and both have made a strong impression. He is also appreciated for his experience in the Premier League when he led Tottenham and Southampton.

Pochettino is expected to evaluate the options to make the most appropriate decision. Before that, he was approached twice by Real and also turned down a number of offers from other European clubs in recent months. It was Chelsea who contacted Pochettino after sacking Thomas Tuchel in September 2022, but did not reach an agreement.

Vincent Kompany is another potential candidate after helping Burnley transform and set a record to win promotion tickets to the Premier League next season seven rounds early. The remaining coach on the list was not disclosed. Sky Sports emphasizes that Chelsea will treat all three candidates fairly and undergo the same thorough evaluation process, before making a final decision.
