Nam Dinh conceded a goal near the end of the second half, but Nam Dinh still managed to equalize 1-1 against Khanh Hoa in the fifth round of V-League 2023 on the afternoon of April 7.

In a tight match on Thien Truong Stadium, Khanh Hoa suddenly opened the score in the 86th minute, from a personal moment of brilliance and more or less luck. Yago Ramos dribbled from the right wing into the penalty area, past three Nam Dinh players, and then shot his left foot. The ball hit Hoang Van Khanh's foot and changed direction, causing Nguyen Manh to stare at the ball into the net.

A late goal put Nam Dinh at risk of losing the match for the first time in the V-League 2023. But in the third minute of compensation, they were suddenly awarded a penalty and then equalized.

Mai Xuan Quyet escaped to the ball past the reach of goalkeeper Ngoc Cuong but was blocked by defender Khanh Hoa in front of the goal line. However, referee Truong Hong Vu still pointed at the 11m mark, saying that Xuan Quyet was fouled by the away team's goalkeeper. Mr. Vu also had a red card ready to punish Ngoc Cuong, but faced a reaction from the away team player. After a few minutes, the referee decided to only punish goalkeeper Khanh Hoa with a yellow card. On the 11m dot, Hendrio easily defeated Ngoc Cuong when the clock had added the seventh minute.

The tension from the above situation made the players on both sides angry in the final moments of the match. Yago Ramos broke the ball fiercely when Manh Hung was lying on the field, causing players on both sides to collide. The behavior error caused foreign striker Khanh Hoa to receive a yellow card and close the match after nine minutes of compensation.

This tense ending contrasts with the somewhat tedious situation in the first 80 minutes of the game. Nam Dinh entered the game excitedly with the style of controlling the ball, while Khanh Hoa was loyal to the "post" defensive counterattack. Both sides had some opportunities, but in turn, Dominic, Khac Ngoc on the home side, and then Huu Khoi of the away team did not take advantage of them successfully.

The scenario was almost the same again in the second half, but this time, the two teams switched roles. Nam Dinh retreated to the defensive rock to counter-attack, giving the stage to Khanh Hoa. Players on both sides also competed to miss the opportunity, before the breakthrough came from Yago Ramos' breakthrough in the 86th minute, opening a series of tense developments towards the end of the game.

Losing the victory, Khanh Hoa still ranked 10th with five points. Meanwhile, Nam Dinh has nine points, equal to Binh Dinh, but takes the top spot due to the goal difference (+2 vs. Tomorrow, April 8, Binh Dinh will receive Thanh Hoa, Hanoi FC as guests before Ho Chi Minh City Club.
