Italy's 4-0 win over Torino in the 27th round of Serie A helped Napoli to 19 points ahead of second-place Lazio.

With 71 points available, Napoli created a gap with such a large second group in Serie A this season for the first time. Before that, they respectively gave up 16 and 18 points from Inter in rounds 22 and 23 in mid-February.

Due to losing 0-1 to Juventus in the derby, Inter dropped to third with only 50 points after 27 rounds. Lazio - the team that beat Roma in the Rome derby - rose to second place in the group, with 52 points. With the current 19-point gap, Napoli only need to win four or five matches in the last 11 rounds to win the title.

In the trip to the field of the team ranked eighth in the previous round, Napoli soon proved the position of the leading team by opening the scoring in the ninth minute. From the corner of Piotr Zielinski, Victor Osimhen headed the goal.

After the goal, Torino tried to respond. However, the shots from Nikola Vlasic, Samuele Ricci, Antonio Sanabria and Mergim Vojvoda all failed to bring results in front of goalkeeper Alex Meret.

Napoli's attack is similar, but with much greater intensity and efficiency. 35 minutes, the referee awarded the visitors a penalty after Karol Linetty's foul on Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. It was the Georgian star who stood up and took a free kick to make it 2-0.

After the second goal, Napoli continued to bombard the Torino goal. Vanja Milinkovic-Savic saves a shot from the edge of the box by Osimhen. However, in the 51st minute, the goalkeeper had to go into the net to pick up the ball for the third time after a team-based attack from the away team. The goal came from a series of passes in the midfield, before Kvaratskhelia jerked the heel for Matias Olivera to stretch, allowing Osimhen to head to make it 3-0.

Osimhen has 21 goals since the start of the 2022-2023 Serie A season, equaling the record for most goals by an African player in a Serie A season set by the legendary Samuel Eto'o in 2011. In the Serie A top scorer race A, Osimhen is seven goals ahead of second-placed Lautaro Martinez.

Osimhen also contributed to Napoli's fourth goal in the 68th minute. After a challenge near the edge of the Nigerian striker, Kvaratskhelia crossed for Tanguy Ndombele to shoot from 12 yards to make it 4-0.

Kvaratskhelia has had 12 goals and 12 assists since the beginning of the 2022-2023 Serie A season. This is an unexpected achievement for a player who still plays for Georgia Dinamo Batumi club in early 2022.
