NBA transfer: Bam Adebayo looking forward to teaming up with Damian Lillard in Miami
While negotiations have stalled between the Miami Heat and Portland Trail Blazers over the exchange of Damian Lillard, All-Star striker Bam Adebayo has blown some heat into the transfer rumors.
Miami Heat's Bigman just shared with reporters the wonderful experience he had with Damian Lillard at the Tokyo Olympics, where the two won the Olympic gold medal with the US team.
"Me and Damian Lillard have a lot in common such as the way we talk, work in the group, work hard in practice or the angle of basketball expertise," Bam Adebayo shared about Lillard.
“Dame was always the loudest person in the US practice sessions. I'm sure it's the second one right behind. Both of us always talk a lot to create a comfortable atmosphere of sharing among teammates, increase interaction and help the team understand each other better.
To play against Dame and play with him off the pitch is pretty cool. I can't say anything about Dame's future, it's just that I've always wanted to play with a player like that in the NBA."
Knowing in advance that the news hunters would ask about the transfer story, Bam Adebayo told himself in advance that negotiation is what the team's leaders do:
“I understand the NBA side of things well. There are things I can't decide but the business of the upper class. Of course, both teams need certain benefits if there is an exchange to take place, so the two sides are still working together.
As for me or the other players, the only thing we can do is wait. Whether Dame comes here (Miami Heat - PV) or not, I still maintain a close relationship with him in real life."
Up to now (August 9), Portland Trail Blazers and Miami Heat have not made any new progress in negotiations. Heat sent a better offer a week ago, but the Blazers have not responded, implicitly expressing their intention to refuse.
Experts say that both teams will have to find a third partner in this exchange. That way they can untie the knot around the requirements for picks, players and salary balance in both Portland and Miami.
