Striker Neymar lost more than a million dollars in more than an hour, while playing cards online and interacting with fans on March 29.

About 30,000 fans watched Neymar's Twitch channel, when the PSG striker played poker online. After losing about $1.1 million in more than an hour, Neymar expressed regret and pretended to cry on the soundtrack of Titanic. Seconds later, the Brazilian superstar smiled again to interact with the fans. Neymar then screamed in pain and put his hand to his mouth. When he was happy again, he pretended to play the flute to the tune of the Titanic soundtrack.

Neymar's loss amount is equivalent to more than a week's salary of the 31-year-old striker. Neymar ranks second in the top of the highest paid players in Ligue 1, just behind teammate Kylian Mbappe. According to Mundo Deportivo, the strong reaction in the video is said to be an advertising gimmick of the website that is collaborating with Neymar.

Neymar loves playing cards, especially poker. According to RMC Sport, he regularly visits casinos, even taking part in the European Poker Tour, where opponents say he is qualified as a professional poker player.

Neymar was once criticized when going to a poker tournament, just a day after PSG were eliminated by Bayern in the eighth round of the Champions League. Coach Christophe Galtier then defended the Brazilian player, saying that Neymar had the right to play cards on his personal day off.

Neymar has not played since the 4-3 victory over Lille on February 19, the match he suffered an ankle injury. On March 6, the owner of the Parc des Princes announced that Neymar had many problems in his right ankle and was forced to undergo surgery to "avoid the risk of serious recurrence". PSG also said that the 30-year-old striker will have surgery in Doha, Qatar and must rest until the end of the season. It was Neymar's sixth ankle sprain since 2019, and also the type of injury he has suffered the most in his career.
