The fight between Van Hai and Su in the Light Weight class is the most interested in a series of six matches of the international boxing event at The Grand Ho Tram Strip on the evening of April 22.

Van Hai has won the national championship six times, but is still underestimated than Su - the famous Chinese boxer who holds two IBO Asia Pacific championship belts and the WBO Asia Super Featherweight belt. The Chinese boxer is also more experienced when he won 11 of 13 professional fights, including 6 by knockout. Van Hai has only had four victories, including one by knockout, through five professional matches.

Both fighters entered the game cautiously and only launched exploratory attacks. Van Hai is more active in moving as well as launching straight punches. It was not until the end of the first half that the two boxers had some notable moves.

In the second half, Van Hai launched very heavy hooks. In response, Su showed his class with a smooth and effective combo attack on the opponent. The Chinese boxer actively moved close, but soon had to receive a series of very heavy blows to the head from Van Hai.

With the experience of helping himself win two Asian championship belts, Su constantly pressed Van Hai into the ring. In the third round, the Chinese boxer hit a heavy punch on the head, making Van Hai stunned. The game then became quite balanced and tactical.

Entering the fourth round, Su continuously launched a speed attack, but Van Hai moved well, avoiding most of the attacks from the opponent. However, the Chinese boxer still proved to be better in this round thanks to his wise and experienced fighting style.

In the next rounds, Su still kept the initiative to put pressure. But under the enthusiastic cheers of the home audience, Van Hai lifted his spirits and strongly countered rumors with a series of quality punches in the seventh round. The Vietnamese boxer kept this momentum to play well in the last round, and was awarded the victory by two of three referees scoring Van Hai.

Besides Van Hai's victory, 26-year-old boxer Pham Huu Thuong also had an impressive performance against Chinese opponent Zeng Yujie in the Super Flyweight category.
