Piers Morgan: 'Man Utd suffer retribution for treating Ronaldo badly'
"Has Ten Hag resigned yet? How can a Man Utd manager stay in place after such a disastrous performance and result," Morgan wrote on Twitter, with a photo of Erik ten Hag giving an interview later. match.
Morgan once questioned Ronaldo to reveal Man Utd's internal secrets, as well as accused the old club of "betraying him" in early November last year. As a result of this action, Man Utd terminated the contract with Ronaldo, causing the Portuguese star to go to Saudi Arabia to play for Al Nassr club.
Having repeatedly publicly defended Ronaldo, as well as criticized Man Utd, Morgan did not miss the opportunity after the Old Trafford team lost 0-7 to Liverpool. On March 6, Morgan posted four consecutive posts on social networks to poke fun at Man Utd.
"It's an interesting and funny thing, but this must be retribution, karma," the British MC wrote and posted a photo taken with Ronaldo when interviewing this star in November.
Morgan also quoted Ten Hag's statement after winning the League Cup with Man Utd on February 26. The Dutch coach said he wanted to have more opportunities to dance with his students like he did with Antony and Lisandro Martinez after the final victory over Newcastle 2-0. "I don't think we'll see any dance tonight," Morgan quipped.
The 57-year-old MC then posted a photo of Ten Hag's interview in a newspaper. In this interview, the Man Utd coach said he slept well after excluding Ronaldo from the squad. Morgan wrote: "Good luck with your sleep tonight, genius."
The 0-7 loss to Liverpool was Man Utd's heaviest defeat in the Premier League era. This result raises doubts about the strength of the "Red Devils" after a period of sublimation with part of the reason being the farewell to Ronaldo.
Ronaldo did not speak about Man Utd's big defeat. The Portuguese striker and Al Nassr defeated Al Batin 3-1 in the Saudi Arabia championship on March 4. This victory keeps them at the top with two points more than Al Ittihad.
