England coach Mauricio Pochettino signed a three-year contract, and started to lead Chelsea from the 2023-2024 season.

A year after being sacked by PSG, Pochettino has found a new job at Chelsea. According to news expert Fabrizio Romano, the 51-year-old coach has signed a contract with this team until the summer of 2026. Chelsea will officially announce this decision in the near future.

Before signing Pochettino, Chelsea negotiated with Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann. However, both of these coaches actively withdrew when not satisfied with the transfer policy of the team.

According to the Daily Mail, Pochettino has submitted a transfer request for the summer of 2023, when he wants Chelsea to add goalkeepers, central midfielders and strikers. Chelsea have around 10 attacking players, but only two strikers are Aubameyang and Armando Broja. While Aubameyang is past his prime, Broja has yet to meet his faith every time he plays with just one goal in 18 games this season.

Owner Todd Boehly is directly involved in negotiating the transfer of Chelsea players. According to Transfermarkt, Chelsea spent 656 million USD to recruit players in the 2022-2023 season. In the opposite direction, they only collected $ 73 million from the sale of players.

Chelsea's performance on the field did not meet expectations, as they finished 12th before the final round of the Premier League. This season, Chelsea has experienced four dynasties of managers, respectively Thomas Tuchel, Graham Potter, Bruno Saltor and Frank Lampard.

Pochettino is 51 years old, playing as a central defender or holding midfielder when he was a player. The Argentine coach began his coaching career at Espanyol in 2009, then led Southampton. His peak came during the time of Tottenham, in the period 2014-2019, when the team was consecutively qualified for the European Cup. When leading PSG in the 2021-2022 period, Pochettino won the first titles of Ligue 1, French Cup and French Super Cup.
