This week, the women's major hosted by Royal & Ancient took place at Walton Heath Golf Club, where four members were British Prime Ministers, including the famous Winston Churchill.

Walton Heath is located in Surrey, southwest London with the year it opened 1904. According to Walton Heath's archives, Churchill chose this place as his home ground in 1910, when he was 36 years old and was a Liberal member of Parliament. Three years later, he hit a handicap of 18, but in 1938 had "fallen" to 24.

Churchill later served as British Prime Minister for two terms, 1940-1945 and 1951-1955. Besides Churchill, Walton Heath has members who are former or current prime ministers - David Lloyd George, Bonar Law, Arthur Balfour, in addition to 45 members of parliament.

Phillip Truett became a member of Walton Heath in 1964 and is now an expert historian for the club. On August 8, he shared on Sports Illustrated: "When I joined, I was very surprised to see Winston Churchill on the list of members. And public opinion once said that the world war was directed from the 19th hole. in Walton Heath".

Truett is reiterating public speculation about the time when the golf course attracted a lot of politicians to play golf while discussing national affairs, especially in the period 1914-1918 when World War I broke out. Walton Heath is not far from the headquarters of the National Assembly, the assembly hall here is designed in a way that forces people to meet in one place. It is this position and style that has created conditions for opening "political forums" after the round of golf.

Walton Heath is proud to have four members at the head of the British government, including Churchill. However, the yard does not have pictures or pictures depicting famous characters playing in the field. However, in the clubhouse is currently hanging a picture of Churchill fighting elsewhere, the location is unknown. This photo, believed to have been taken in the 1910s, appeared in Golfing magazine, November-December, 1940.

However, Churchill's interest in golf at Walton Heath was reflected in a letter to his wife Clementine in the book "Speaking for Themselves" written by his daughter Mary Soames. "Honey, I'll be back tomorrow morning, around 11-12 o'clock. I think we'll have some fun together over a little golf at Walton Heath," the letter read.

Ms. Clementine was notified by Walton Heath in 1910 that she accepted a membership, with an initial joining fee of £5.5, and an annual fee of £4.4 (equivalent to $6 at the time).
