PSG defender accused of sexual assault
According to Le Parisien, a 23-year-old woman reported to police over the weekend that she was raped by a PSG player, but did not want to file a complaint. The man told officers he only wanted to "notify the rape". Due to the seriousness of the allegations, prosecutors opened an investigation to shed light on the case.
Le Parisien said Hakimi started talking to this girl on Instagram on January 16. Then, the 24-year-old defender booked an Uber and invited her to his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, Paris on January 25. Here the PSG player had sex without consent. The girl then escaped by kicking Hakimi, before texting a friend to come pick her up and report it to police the next day.
According to the AP, the prosecutor's office handling the case complained that "the information has been made public, hindering the investigation necessary to find the truth."
At the time of the allegation, Hakimi's wife - Spanish actress Hiba Abouk - was on vacation in Dubai with their two sons. The Morocco defender met Hiba in 2018, while still at Dortmund.
Hiba, born in 1986, is 12 years older than Hakimi and made his name in the Spanish crime drama El Principe. Both are devout Muslims. Hakimi and Hiba secretly got married in 2020 before welcoming their first son, and the second child was born in 2022. In October 2022, when the World Cup was approaching, the couple appeared in a photo series in the magazine. Vogue Arabia.
Hakimi scored four goals in 31 games in all competitions this season, but missed PSG's last two matches in Ligue 1 due to a muscle injury. At the 2022 World Cup, he played all seven matches to help Morocco make history with fourth place.
Dani Alves - another defender who played for PSG between 2017 and 2019 - is also involved in a sexual assault investigation. He was denied bail by a Spanish court and will have to spend time in jail until his rape allegation trial takes place. However, the date of the trial has not been set.
