According to the assessment of La Rep des Pyrenees (France), midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai is in the group of players who contributed the least to Pau FC in the first phase of the season.

Pau got off to a bad start to the season, going on a seven-match winless streak. But after coach Didier Tholot changed tactics, they won five and drew two of the next eight matches. Before taking a break to make way for the 2022 World Cup, Pau FC jumped to ninth with 21 points after 15 rounds.

On this occasion, La Rép des Pyrenees newspaper, which specializes in writing about the local team Pau FC, gave an overview of the players' contributions, ranging from 0 to 4 stars. Accordingly, midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai belongs to the group with a one-star rating, despite scoring the decisive goal to help Pau FC draw Rodez 2-2 in round 11.

"Quang Hai is a victim of new tactics," the newspaper commented. "Like defender Diyaeddine Abzi, both need more time to meet the professional requirements in Ligue 2."

Coach Tholot initially used a 4-2-3-1 scheme, so Quang Hai had a foothold in the position of an attacker right behind the striker. However, the bad results at the beginning of the season forced him to switch to 3-5-2, meaning that Quang Hai had less chance to play. After six consecutive matches, the Vietnamese midfielder was only allowed to play in four of the last nine matches, with no more than 12 minutes each time.

In addition to Quang Hai and Abzi, five other attackers who also received a one-star rating are Mohamed Yattara, Pape Ibnou Ba, Mayron George, Charles Boli and David Gomis. All contributed only one of 15 goals of Pau FC so far.

The four players who contributed the most, with four stars, were defender Jean Ruiz, midfielder Henri Saivet, Steeve Beusnard and striker Mons Bassouamina. Jean Ruiz deservedly replaced the position of captain Antoine Batisse left after a ligament injury. The remaining three players imprinted their shoes on the team's 12 goals, along with excellent defensive support.

"Henri Saivet rebalanced Pau FC and helped the team lose just one match with him," wrote La Rép des Pyrenees. "And Steeve Beusnard is the phoenix reincarnated with the team."

Three players received three stars including goalkeeper Alexandre Olliero, defender Noe Sow, Erwin Koffi and midfielder Eddy Sylvestre. Meanwhile, Xavier Kouassi, Jean-Lambert Evan received two stars.

Players who were not scored due to the small number of minutes played, including goalkeepers Massamba Ndiaye, Quentin Galvez-Diarra, defender Nathan Monzango, midfielder Jovan Nisic, striker Marius Ros and Walid Jarmouni.

Pau is entering a short break and is expected to reunite at the end of November. At the same time, the national teams will gather according to the FIFA Days schedule and Quang Hai is expected to return to Vietnam for a reunion match. friendly with Borussia Dortmund club on November 30. On December 20, Pau FC played again with the match against Colomiers in the eighth round of the French National Cup.
