Quang Liem lost to world number seven player in tie-break
Four quick games took place without either side gaining a major advantage, causing the two players to accept all four draws. They won and lost by tie-break of blitz, and Giri won in the first game when he held the white piece. The number one Dutch player got a good win in the middle, and better than the horse in the endgame, before winning after 62 moves. In the second test day from 3 am on 16/11, Hanoi time, Quang Liem met So with the advantage of holding the white piece in the first game. These two players used to compete for the number one young position in the world, or the number one in Southeast Asia, until So moved to the American league. So is currently the number eight player in the world, according to the standard chess Elo November 2022.
The remaining three matches are Giri - Praggnanandhaa, Mamedyarov - Duda and Erigaisi - Carlsen.
Champions Chess Tour is the world's largest online chess tournament system initiated by Carlsen. Tour 2022 has a bonus fund of 1.6 million USD, of which the final round has a total prize of 210,000 USD.
