Real wants to recruit Mbappe this summer

Real Madrid will send PSG an offer of 130 million USD for striker Kylian Mbappe before the summer transfer market in 2023 closes.

According to German newspaper Bild, the move was approved by Real's leadership in a meeting last week. Real will send an offer to PSG at the latest on August 29 to put pressure on the French club before the transfer window closes at the end of September 1.

Bild pointed to many reasons why Real had to act early. First, they want to buy Mbappe this summer, avoiding the French striker's extension with PSG, which may include a higher release clause. Besides, there is a matter of expertise, when Real still desperately needs a top-class striker to replace Karim Benzema - the captain who switched to Al Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League. Real just borrowed Joselu from relegation team Espanyol last season as a short-term alternative.

In addition, Real are building a young team and Mbappe could be the next factor. In the opening match of La Liga against Bilbao 2-0, coach Carlo Ancelotti pushed two veteran midfielders Toni Kroos and Luka Modric to the bench, and used the midfield quartet of Aurelien Tchouameni, Jude Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Eduardo Camavinga. .

Mbappe came on in the second half and scored the penalty kick to open the scoring in the 62nd minute. After scoring, the 2018 World Cup winner leaped over billboards, celebrated in front of PSG fans, and shouted, "I'm here to stay. , I stay here".

According to The Times, after active negotiations with president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, Mbappe reached an agreement to renew with PSG with a release clause. There is no word on whether this is a short-term or long-term contract with a release level. But Spanish newspaper AS predicts PSG wants at least $ 200 million - the same fee they paid to buy Mbappe from Monaco in the summer of 2018.

On August 19, despite Mbappe's return and scoring, PSG was still held 1-1 by Toulouse. With the second draw in a row, the Paris capital club dropped to eighth in Ligue 1 and had their worst start since the 2020-2021 season, losing both their first two matches to Lens and Marseille, then losing the title to Lille. .

Mbappe and his teammates will play the next match against Lens at Parc des Princes in the third round of Ligue 1 on August 26.
