Uzbekistan Striker Baker Kamal Kalbouneh of Jordan received the earliest red card at the 2023 AFC U-20 Finals, in the opening match against Tajikistan in Group C on the evening of March 2.

Immediately after serving, Kalbouneh made a dangerous foul when he entered the ball high, hitting defender Mehrubon Karimov in the head. Immediately, referee Yahya Almulla showed a red card directly to Jordan's striker when the clock was only eight seconds.

The situation surprised the players present on the Lokomotiv field. And Kalbouneh left the field in tears.

Having to play short, but Jordan unexpectedly opened the scoring 7 minutes. Captain Mohannad Abu Taha crossed the ball from the right, grazing a Tajikistan player's head before reaching Ali Ahmad Azaizeh's position. Jordan's number 20 is the toe of the shoe within 5m50, not giving the opponent's goalkeeper a chance to save.

Jordan then stepped back to play defensively, but continued to score after a sharp attack. In the 25th minute, Azaizeh shot far, causing goalkeeper Yusupov to push the ball but to the right position of Mohannad Taha. This midfielder passes to Sief Addeen Darwish to cushion the ball close to the goal. Much time left, but Jordan stood firm against the attacks of Tajikistan to win 2-0.

This match almost recreates how Iraq defeated Indonesia yesterday 1/3. The representative of West Asia lost people from the 45th minute but defeated the army of coach Shin Tae-yong 2-0.

Victory over Tajikistan gave Jordan the first three points but not enough to top the table. In the other match of Group C, Korea defeated Oman 4-0 with goals from Kim Yong-hak, double goals from Sung Jin-young and Kang Seong-jin.

The first round of the AFC U20 2023 group stage has two matches in Group D, between Korea and China and defending champion Saudi Arabia against Kyrgyzstan on the evening of March 3. Vietnam suddenly beat Australia to share the top of the group with Iran - the team also beat Qatar 1-0.
