Revealing the not-so-cheap price for Stephen Curry's tooth guard
On Thursday, Stephen Curry was sent off the pitch after a rare moment of lack of restraint seen by fans.
Seemingly annoyed by teammate Jordan Poole's hasty decision to throw a 3-pointer, Curry pulled out his mouthguard and threw it away to relieve himself. This action did not go unnoticed by the referees and Stephen was immediately disqualified.
Fortunately, the Golden State Warriors still won thanks to hero Jordan Poole with a tight score of 122-120.
Not only had to take an "early shower" that day, but Stephen Curry was also fined by the NBA, a fine of $ 25,000 for the act of "throwing a tooth guard at the audience".
Curry himself knew that what he did was not right. After the game he said: "It was a crucial moment of the game and I shouldn't have done it. In that moment, I couldn't control myself and put the team in a difficult position."
Stephen added that this has been a difficult season mentally for him and the team. The effort to win every game has caused some players to stop being themselves and he is one of them.
In a career spanning from 2009 to now, this is only the third time Stephen Curry has been expelled from the game. Coincidentally, all three are related to the dental guard that has become the trademark of the "chef".
Curry's first kick-off occurred at Game 6 of the 2016 NBA Finals when he threw a dental guard back into the courtside row. The second time was in 2017 when he did the same thing but threw it at the umpires.
