Review Lech Poznan vs Fiorentina: Triumph on a foreign land
Fiorentina played much more effectively after the tactical adjustments of coach Vincenzo Italiano. Since the 0-2 defeat to Juventus on February 13, Fiorentina is undefeated with 12 consecutive matches. In this series of matches, they won up to 12 victories, an impressive number.
On the Serie A table, Fiorentina is firmly in 9th place with 19 points more than the group holding the red light. With this gap, La Viola can safely focus all of his mind and energy on the continental front, which is two battles with Lech Poznan in the immediate future.
Lech Poznan is of course not as appreciated as Fiorentina, as shown by being accepted by the Italian team at 0:3/4 at home. One of the reasons Lech Poznan made it to the quarterfinals was because they all faced weaker opponents like Bodo Glimt or Djurgardens. In front of Fiorentina, who is both old and dirty, and in high form, Lech Poznan can hardly create a surprise.
In the past, Lech Poznan once faced Fiorentina in the European Cup, that was in the 2015/16 season. That season, Lech Poznan was defeated by Fiorentina 2-0 right under the Stadion Poznań dome. Tonight, it is likely that the difference will be repeated when La Viola is very determined to win tickets to the semi-finals.
