Robbers attack girlfriend of La Liga star
On May 22, the bandits waited for Kluivert's girlfriend to walk the dog home, broke in, and forced her to show her where to store the property. After about five minutes, they left the home in the suburbs of Valencia of the Dutch striker, taking away some jewelry and watches worth about 220,000 USD.
Kluivert's girlfriend and a family member suffered minor injuries. However, they do not have to go to the hospital. Spanish police are investigating the incident.
The theft happened when Kluivert was with Valencia club preparing to play in Mallorca. After hearing the news, he remained at the club. In the match on the same day, Kluivert came on as a substitute for Nicolas Gonzalez in the 66th minute, but Valencia lost 0-1.
In recent years, La Liga players have become a favorite target of thieves. Former Barca striker Aubameyang and his wife once had to deal with thieves on the outskirts of the city. Thieves also raided the home of Karim Benzema in January 2022 and Rodrygo earlier this month.
Kluivert is playing for Valencia on loan from Roma. He has scored eight goals in 26 games this season. Kluivert is the son of former Dutch striker who played for Ajax and Barca - Patrick Kluivert.
Valencia is currently 13th in La Liga with 40 points, but is still in danger of relegation. They are only two points ahead of the 18th ranked team Valladolid. In the remaining two rounds, Kluivert and his teammates still need to earn points against Espanyol and Betis.
