Ronaldo may have negotiated with Bayern
The British newspaper reported that last week Bayern officials flew to England to speak with Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes. Bayern was one of several clubs that Mendes had offered in the summer, but was turned down. At the time, the German team's CEO, Oliver Kahn, said that Ronaldo did not fit the philosophy of Bayern. They also don't want to pay a salary of $600,000 per week for CR7, after spending $35 million on Sadio Mane.
However, Bayern changed their mind due to concerns about Mane's fitness. The Senegal striker was injured in the 6-1 win over Bremen in the Bundesliga on November 8, but is still on the list for the World Cup.
During the summer transfer window, Ronaldo wanted to leave Man Utd to continue attending the Champions League. In this season's group stage, Lionel Messi has shortened the gap from Ronaldo's record of 140 goals in the Champions League to 11 goals. If joining Bayern, the duo will face each other in the round of 16.
On November 13, in an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo accused Man Utd of betrayal and coach Erik ten Hag of disrespecting him. CR7 also believes that the "Red Devils" leaders are trying to push him out of the club.
According to the media, these allegations almost put an end to Ronaldo's career at Man Utd. Next time, the leadership can liquidate the contract six months early so that Ronaldo is free to leave.
Chelsea also wanted to buy Ronaldo, but was opposed by then coach Thomas Tuchel. After replacing Tuchel with Graham Potter, Chelsea boss Todd Boehly can return to the deal and compete with Bayern.
During his first period with Man Utd from 2003 to 2009, Ronaldo scored 118. He also contributed 450 goals for Real and 101 goals for Juventus. After returning to Man Utd, Ronaldo became the club's most goalscorer in the 2021-2022 season with 24 goals. However, in the first 16 games of this season, he has only three goals.
