Salah enjoyed the highest Premier League
On July 1, Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool until the summer of 2025, ending speculation about the future. The Egyptian star's weekly salary has increased to $485,000, making him the highest paid player in Liverpool's history and currently in the Premier League, according to the Sport Mail.
At present, following Salah on the Premier League salary list are Ronaldo and Kevin De Bruyne, earning $465,000 a week. Manchester City rookie Haaland's weekly salary is 450,000, which is equal to Manchester United goalkeeper David DeGea.
Salah is well ahead of Liverpool's second-highest earner Virgil Van Dyke-a midfielder earning $265,000 a week. N 'Golo Kante ($350,000) and Thomas Partey ($242,000) are the highest paid players at Chelsea and Arsenal respectively.
Most surprisingly, Tanguy Ndombele received Tottenham Hotspur's highest weekly salary, earning $242,000 a week, which is equal to captain striker Harry Kane. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest and Brentford are the only two clubs in the Premier League, with no player earning more than $30,000 a week.
Under his new contract, Salah has also become the fourth-highest-paid footballer in the world, behind Paris Saint-Germain's three stars. Above Salah is Neymar, who earns $733,000 a week. On July 1st, Neymar activated the two-year contract renewal clause until the end of the 2026-2027 season. That makes it difficult for PSG to dislodge the Brazil star from Parc des Princes this summer.
Lionel Messi took a pay cut when he joined Paris Saint-Germain on a free last summer but remains the second-highest-paid player in the world, earning $1.1 million a week. The Argentine star earned $1.66 million a week for the 2020-2021 season, his final season at Barcelona.
Led by Kylian Mbappe, who has just renewed his contract for three years and earns more than $1.2 million a week. As well as becoming the highest-paid footballer in history, the French striker has also decided many sports and has a say in the change of coach and transfer work of Paris Saint-Germain.
Two other names in the top 10 best-paid players in the world are Antoine Griezmann ($430,000) and Robert Lewandowski ($423,000).
