Mohamed Salah will stay at Liverpool until at least January 2024, after the Saudi Pro League champion Al Ittihad abandoned his intention to recruit him.

Al Ittihad hopes to convince Liverpool to sell Salah before the transfer deadline in Saudi Arabia - September 7. However, according to Foot Mercato, the Saudi Pro League defending champion withdrew from negotiations on September 6, saying it was too late to reach an agreement with Liverpool about the Egyptian striker.

According to British media, Liverpool is willing to let Salah leave if he is paid $270 million. Faced with this record demand, the Al Ittihad delegation flew to England for negotiations on September 5. However, the negotiation process between the two sides arose many problems, making them unable to resolve in a short time.

Al Ittihad once sent an offer of 187 million USD for Salah to Liverpool a few days before the European transfer market closed on August 31, but was rejected by the English club. However, coach Jurgen Klopp at that time admitted the risk of losing his number one star and was worried that Liverpool would not be able to buy a replacement. In the immediate future, Salah's stay will erase the concerns of the German coach as well as Liverpool fans.

Salah scored the winning goal when Liverpool defeated Aston Villa 3-0 on September 3. This result helps the Anfield team rise to third in the Premier League, two points behind leader Man City. This goal made Salah the first player to score or assist in 10 consecutive Premier League matches, after his own feat in December 2021 (15 consecutive matches).

Salah's future was a matter of concern on the sidelines of that match. When asked about this, left back Andy Robertson said: "We have nothing to worry about. Mo Salah is a Liverpool player and we don't think that will change in the near future. He is very professional , always doing his job well and is one of the best players in the world."
