Scored a double in a 7-0 victory over Man Utd in round 26, Mohamed Salah rose to monopolize the scoring record for Liverpool in the English Premier League.

In the 66th minute, Scott McTominay's block inadvertently created an assist for Salah to catch a right-footed volley and hit the roof of Man Utd. In the 83rd minute, from the ball in the Man Utd penalty area, Luke Shaw made a bad break to help the Egyptian star hit an empty net, raising the score to 6-0 for Liverpool.

Salah spread his arms, calmly celebrating the first goal. But he took off his shirt, jumped up and punched the air and then ran to the corner of the stands to share his joy with the fans when he completed the double.

These are the 128th and 129th goals, respectively, helping Salah surpass the legendary Robbie Fowler to become the Liverpool player with the most goals in the Premier League. He reached the milestone of 129 goals in just 205 games, and Fowler needed 266 matches to score 128 goals. Salah also became the first Liverpool player to score in six consecutive matches against Man Utd in all competitions, with nine goals.

On Twitter, Fowler posted a photo of himself in the audience at Anfield and watched Salah celebrate his record goal in the corner. The former British player sent his greetings and called Salah a Liverpool legend.

After the game, Salah said becoming Liverpool's top scorer was "always on the mind" since joining the club and having had one of the best days of his life. "After the first season, I'm always chasing that record. Beating Man Utd 7-0 and setting the record on the same day is unbelievable," he added.

The 30-year-old striker could not choose his favorite goal among 129 goals for Liverpool in the Premier League. He revealed that he would go home to celebrate with his family, drink chrysanthemum tea and then go to bed.

Meanwhile, coach Jurgen Klopp praised his students: "It's crazy, the number of 129 goals is absolutely crazy. I don't even know how many times Salah has assisted, and he has two more assists today. Salah going into Liverpool history is special, because he is a very special player. When you look back in the future, people will realize they witnessed something really special."

Salah also scored twice to assist, allowing Cody Gakpo and Roberto Firmino to score this match. He has contributed to Liverpool's 33 goals in all competitions this season, including 22 goals and 11 assists. As a result, Salah became the first player in Europe's top five leagues to surpass 20 goals and 10 assists in all competitions in the 2022-2023 season.

The jubilant victory over Man Utd helped Liverpool rise to fifth with 42 points, three points behind Tottenham and playing one game less. Salah and his teammates will be guests of Bournemouth on March 11 and then march to Real's field to kick the second leg of the 1/8 Champions League round. In the first leg at Anfield, Liverpool lost 2-5 despite leading 2-0 thanks to Salah and Nunez.
